Why is My Stone Wearing Out So Quickly?
If your stone is wearing down faster than expected, it could be due to sharpening against the blade's edge (referred to as “reverse edge movement”). This can damage the stone’s surface and cause it to lose its effectiveness. Always sharpen in the direction of the blade to preserve the diamond layer and maintain the stone’s performance.
How to maintain my sharpening stones?
· Clean with water and a soft brush after use.
· Let dry fully before storing.
· Use a dressing stone regularly to maintain performance.
What is the black residue on my stone?
It’s metal from the blade—normal during sharpening. Clean with a dressing stone.
How long will my stone last?
With proper care, your stone will last a long time. Replace if performance drops significantly.
